Justyna Cybulska cooperate as an expert with the National Centre for Research and Development, Lublin Agency for Enterprise Development and Ministry of Science and Higher Education. She is a member of Managing Committee of COSR Action Neubias. Since 2016 she is a member of the Polish Young Academy PAS. She worked at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique, Karpenko Physico-Mechanical Institute of NAS Ukraine and The Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Author of numerous scientific publications in international journals. She managed several projects, such as LIDER (NCBR), Iuventus Plus (MNiSW), Pomost (FNP), and worked as a researcher in many other projects. She is the winner of many scientific awards and fellowships, eg. Marie Curie Fellowship, Leonardo da Vinci fellowship, fellowship of French government, YGGDRASIL programme (The Research Council of Norway), Scholarship of the Minister of Science and Higher Education for Eminent Young Scientists, distinction of Division II: Biological and Agricultural Sciences PAS.

Daniel Gerhards holds a master degree in Wine Technology with focus on molecular biology and biotechnology from University Geisenheim and Gießen, Germany and has already worked for PALL interims in SLS F&B for GeneDisc support in 2013.

She currently serves as Dean of Faculty of Human Nutrition and Consumer Sciences at Warsaw University of Life Science. Main areas of didactic and scientific activity of Professor is focused on consumer behavior in the food market, servicisation of consumption, sociology and marketing research in the food market, level and structure of consumption in different types of households, determinants of consumer behaviour in the food market, new trends in consumption, and consumer versus innovative food.

He has been Secretary General of the AIJN, European Fruit Juice Association, since 1984. He
graduated in journalism from the University of Gent and holds a degree in European Law from the
University of Brussels as well as a MA in International Relations from the Paul Nitze School of
Advanced International Studies of the Johns Hopkins University in Washington DC (USA). After his
studies in 1979 he worked for a short period as assistant for a Belgian member of the European
Parliament. In 1981 he joined SIA, a company which organizes the management of Belgian, European
and International trade associations in the food and drinks industry, as a consultant. In this capacity
Jan Hermans looked amongst others after the interests of the Belgian dairy industry association
before getting exclusively involved in the juice industry. Since January 1, 2001, Jan Hermans is
heading the independent AIJN secretariat in Brussels.

He has been representing Poland in cooperation with the WHO in the field of nutrition, food and prevention against nutrition-related diseases. Since 2007 he has been an expert on nutrition to cooperate with the EFSA advisory forum. In 2008 he was appointed the leader of the National Information Focal Point for Nutrition and Physical Activity in Poland by the WHO and the European Commission. Alicja Z. Kucharska, Ph.D., D.Sc. in agricultural sciences in the field of food and nutrition technology, employed as an associate professor at the Department of Fruit, Vegetable and Plant Nutraceutical Technology of Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences. She is involved in the study and identification of biologically active compounds, in particular polyphenolic and iridoid compounds, contained in fruits, vegetables and herbs, their stability and changes in products. She is particularly interested in wild and refreshing, less known and forgotten fruits, such as hawthorn, blueberry, quince, and cornelian cherry. In cooperation with scientists from the Wroclaw Medical University, she participates in in vivo studies of the biological properties of compounds isolated from cornelian cherry.

Wouter lox obtained his master’s degree in Bioscience-engineering at the University of Ghent and worked for several years in Libreville (Gabon). After his return in 1994 he joined DVI-SIA to work as Secretary General for different European and national food associations and acted as Food regulatory expert. He obtained an additional degree as Packaging Manager and was co-author of a packaging manual. In 1997 he joined Yakult Europe as Manager European Regulatory and Public Affairs. Wouter started as Manager Public Affairs and regulatory affairs for Nuskin Enterprises/Pharmanex in 2002, developed further his specialization of dietary Supplements and cosmetic legislation. Since 2007 he is Managing Director of the European Salt Producer’s Association and is since many years treasurer and Council member of EFLA and Council member of the European Executives Association and Vice-President of SEAP.
As of the 1st of January 2009, Wouter will assume the position of Secretary General of AIJN.

He runs an accredited laboratory for analysis of residues of plant protection products for the needs of both government agencies and private companies for more than 15 years. Storage and Processing Department. He gained experience working in the US, UK, Mongolia and
China, and through participation in numerous national and financed by the EU grants. Has been Vice
President of the Polish Association of Juice Producers since over 22 years. Author of about 200
publications and co-author of a few books on topics related to quality evaluation and processing of
fruit & vegetables.
